Balance.
Do you have it?
can you get it?
can you keep it?
Careful!
Don't fall!
~Becky
This is my life as I see it. It may not be perfect or PC, but it's real and it's full of music and God's grace.

Once upon a time...
August 30th, 2010
Once upon a time...
there was a young couple who left their apartment to shop for groceries.
They left their capable friends there to finish painting the walls.
But when they returned...
they found the door left ajar and the apartment empty.
As they walked down the entrance hall, every step creaking beneath their feet.
They entered the living room to find it empty. All traces of their friends gone!
except this!
And then their friends came out of the back room and giggled.
did you like my horror story? Lol.
It wasn't very good. That's ok though.
This is actually a friends hand in the paint that we painted part of our apartment in. It looks really nice, now that it's done and you can't see the hand print.
Here's a bonus horror pic!

I could have danced all night!
August 28th, 2010
Cassie is back in town for a few weeks!
So she got us together to go square dancing!
Oh MAN! It has been so long since I've been dancing, but we all jumped right in and danced every dance we could!
Christi and I are planning on starting lessons again this fall.
Anybody want to join us!

Leave a Legacy
August 27th, 2010
This month is Leave a Legacy Month.
Did you know that?
A legacy.
To leave something behind, or pass down something to future generations.
What do you want to leave a legacy of?
Maybe your family is your legacy?
Or money, or property?
Or family traditions?
Or maybe something else?
Something like love?
How can you leave a legacy of Love?
Loving like the one who created love loves
Leave your favorite Love Quote, or something you have learned about love or through love.

Books
August 25th, 2010
Welcome to post #80.
On a side note, I almost typed 2004 today. Talk about living in the past.
On to today's topic.
BOOKS!!
I love books.
I love to read them.
Smell them.
Touch them.
Organize them.
Open a brand new book is amazing!
sigh...
I love to shop for books.
It's like treasure hunting!
these are my favorite spots to hit:
1. Goodwill. Especially the ones in Portland because they have a lot of books that are new or popular. That's where the extra books from libraries, schools, and desperate housewife bookclubs end up after the newness has worn off.
2. Powells. Hello!! The city of books! It's still the only place that I can get completely turned around in. I'm almost 50% sure of where the different sections are located and how to get there.
3. Borders. Not only do they have books, but they have music AND coffee, my next two favorite things after books. Plus this is one book store that you don't have to pay $25 a year to have a membership. It's free and you accumulate points which can get you books at ridiculously low prices, or even free!
4. Barnes and Noble. There are more of these than Borders, but they are a little more expensive. They also have music and coffee. But again more expensive. But hey! It made my list.
so.. What is the latest book you finished reading.
Did you like it? Why or why not?
What genre?
Would you recommend it?
Mine is The Vampire Assistant series. I had seen the movie and was curious. The movie was cut vastly short and was different. Same basic premise though. The book series was 12 books long, but they were easy reads.
I did enjoy them but they were completely predictable as in I pretty much had a good idea how the books would play out. who would live and die, how they would die, who would develop into important future character rolls in the book and such. But it was still good.
It was young adult fiction, in the almost horror. It wasn't really horrific, but it would probably go in that category. Nothing bad or gruesome happened.
I would recommend it for those who are middle through high school, or like to read young adult fiction novels. If you like books about vampires, NOT TWILIGHT VAMPIRES!!!, then you would probably enjoy it.
So let me know what you've read now!

The Eyes
August 23rd, 2010
Some say the eyes are the windows to the soul.
So what would a person be like if only their eyes did the talking?
Would they speak of love?
of tragedy?
of hope?
of sadness?
of joy?
of loss?
Would they tell you the story of that persons life
or be the reflection of how they see you?
If you look into the eyes of someone who is dead but had such a lively spirit,
would you see them still and all they loved and believed in?
And if you looked into the eyes of someone who is alive but dead inside,
would you find nothing but the abyss to which they have succumbed?
Do we have the strength to look into the eyes of the ones we love and tell them what they mean to us?
Can we forgive the past?
The hurt and the envy.
Do we have the courage to look into the eyes of those we don't know and speak the truth in love and kindness?
Do we have the right?
Are we honest enough?
I'm sorry for the eyes that have seen their last sunset,
their last sunrise,
their last rainbow and rain fall.
The eyes that will no longer see the colors of fall
or the flashing power of lightening.
I'm sorry that I didn't look you in the eyes the last time I saw you.
Maybe it would not have stopped the inevitable,
but maybe you would have known one more person cared about you.

A Day at the Park
August 18th, 2010
As I continue to build my repertoire of photo's, I hope to eventually start my own company.
Hense the name.
I also am in the process of creating release papers for the kids at the learning center to use as promotional material for myself because these kids are SO FREAKING CUTE!!
I LOVE to take pictures of kids, but I am limited in what I can actually post. So the one's I have chosen for today aren't really the best ones but are ones I can post because you can't tell who they are. Unless you are Crystal and know them like I do.
First!
We saw a blimp today.
And this picture is cool.
Hopefully I will have better pics to post of kids soon.

Cherry Cheesecake!
August 14th, 2010
Here is the cheesecake I made last night.
I slaved over this beauty.
Perfecting the finely crushed graham cracker crust.
carefully mixing the cheesecake.
Waiting so patiently for it to set.
Gently layering the cherry toppings.
And here it is!
Jk guys.
I bought a premade cheesecake filling and put it in a ready made crust and opened a can of cherries. That I did have to add gently.
I tried lying. But I can't.

August 10th, 2010
Today is just one of those days....

Chest kick someone screaming

Yea...
It's one of those days.

Two things.
1. Today is 8.9.10
2. It has been a week since I posted something and for that I am very sorry.
In the hubub of moving we lost internet. And while I had the full intention of taking advantage of local businesses that did, my life became subject to that classic syndrome of spouse planning.
Ya know, that one thing where you plan to do something and you come home to find out your day has been scheduled for you.
Complete freedom of your own schedule is something you trade in on your wedding day.
Not that i'm complaining.
Anyways... to kick things off I thought I would post a picture of a ball.
And a boy.
This is Isaiah.
He is helping mom blow up his beach ball.
